This 1950s vintage necktie finds a great balance between bold - the abstract chaos of the woven motifs in the mostly-satin jacquard - and the subtle - the small fleur-de-lis and other vaguely heraldic motifs in the print, done in gray, yellow, white and black. The fabric is almost certainly rayon.
